7 in the news and whatnot

Here are some recent articles around the web that I found interesting:

After Big Bash, Big Cleanup Begins in Times Square
Bet you never thought of what happens AFTER the ball has dropped and everybody has gone home. Some amazing New Year's Eve celebration figures: three and a half tons of confetti, over one million people, and everything is cleaned up before 8am the next day, thanks to 80 sanitation workers.

Subway Delays Caused by Ladies on Diets
Apparently people (women) who are skipping out on breakfast or whatever meal are fainting and causing the trains to stop and take care of them. The original article can be found at amNY, but the Gothamist version has a fantastic photo of "The Subway Lean." Seriously though... what the fuck, ladies? Please eat.

Giuliani's Unintentional Leave Behind
Rudy left a top-secret dossier outlining a 2008 presidential campaign at a hotel, vulnerable to the hands of a rival-sympathizer who sent it into The Daily News. The articles say that the premature finding of the documents could do some serious damage to his campaign, but oh my god, if Giuliani runs in 2008, I (and lots of New Yorkers, I'm guessing) just might be okay with going Republican for four more years.

Oh, and the ever-lovely and quick-witted Sachi Ezura has started up a blog on her take of the comedy world: check out The ComeDiva.

Yeah, they're all New York-related. Whatever, yo.
